What happens if it rains?

• The Florida Suns maintain a weather policy that keeps the safety of the players and coaches as our first priority. Cancellation of practice is at the discretion of the coaches. In the event of lightning practices will definitely be cancelled, but please keep in mind that a heavy rain may also require cancellation so as not to jeopardize the quality of the equipment (including net systems and volleyballs). 

 

How will we be notified if practice is cancelled?

• If practice is cancelled for ANY reason a message will be sent out via GROUPME. To receive these messages simply text 214-563-3247 and asked to be added to the Sand Volleyball GROUPME. It is recommended that both players AND parents enroll in the Sand Volleyball GROUPME. A notification will be sent out ONLY if practice is cancelled.   

 

Do I have to have a partner before I sign up?

• It is not required that you join with a partner, but you can if you would like to. If you are in need of a partner coaches will make suggestions, but will never assign players to compete together.

 

Are there any make up sessions if I miss practice?

• Make up sessions will ONLY be held in the event that practice has been cancelled. In the event that any practices have been cancelled ONE make up session will be held at the end of the season. 

 

Why is it better to practice at the beach rather than a park?

• When practicing at the beach you are truly experiences all of the different elements that you will face at a tournament. The wind factor, the sun, and the loose sand are much different at the beach than at a park.
